ryan was sent to prison due to him assisting his brother, trey, in stealing a car. trey stayed in jail for awhile. sandy cohen, a middle aged man who's a lawyer and is ryan's attorney, managed to free ryan and then welcomed him to live in his home. sandy's son, seth, welcomed ryan with a greeting of "hey.. do you want to play?" while seth was playing video games. kirstin, sandy's wife, wasn't too welcoming at first due to worrying about seth mixing with ryan's personality. later on, kirstin was understanding and welcomed ryan into her home. marissa was living nextdoor to the cohens. once, when ryan went outside of the cohen's to smoke, he met marissa. they chatted for awhile. marissa asked ryan for a cigarette and he gave her one. then, she left to go out with her boyfriend, luke. ryan instantly fell in love with her, but it took awhile for marissa to process her love for ryan. then, they dated for awhile. they were on and off for awhile. then, when marissa was dating someone named volchok. volchok got mad at marissa and took a car, and while marissa and ryan were in a car, he pushed them over. ryan got up from the car and picked up marissa and walked off before the car exploded. ryan bent down on the ground with marissa in his arms. they exchanged some words and both thought of the love they shared. minutes later, marissa died in ryan's arms. their love will last forever, no matter what.
